I have avoided using video for a long time.
Considering how easy it is to convert a blog post into a video, I realize that I was merely afraid of failing at the expense of succeeding.
Anyone can do this...
3 Simple Steps To a Video Blog
Step 1: I wrote a blog post. http://activerain.com/blogsview/1585683/working-internet-leads-requires-just-that-work-
Step 2: I turned that blog post into a SlideShare presentation. http://www.slideshare.net/RealEstateClientReferrals/working-internet-leads
Step 3: I turned that SlideShare presentation into a video.

I am now sending out a video welcome message and it has worked well so far in the early stages. I am bookmarking this popst for future reference
Charlie -- Awesome! That is one thing I need to get done. I just got a Flip camera, so I have no more excuses. ;-)
Thanks. I'm always in need of technical info. Charlie Gantz, Greenwood, IN; J.D., M.B.A.; Owner/Principal Broker, Atlas Property Group, LLC
Charles -- I simply created a PowerPoint presentation based on the info in the blog and uploaded the slides to SlideShare (Which has some pretty awesome SEO attached to it...which is a bonus.)
It's super to broadcast the message on real estate, your local area, how your brand works in new ways besides copy, in written fashion without the imagery. But video is 30 frames per second action, not stills. You breathe life in to a presentation with a live subject talking, with expression, back ground green screen "slide show" or more video. Slide shows are not video. Video's audio also helps build the lasting impression too. Great slide show though. I'm just saying.
Andrew -- Going back to my original statement...I have been afraid of using video... ;-) Camera shy, I guess you could say. But, I do get your point...and I just got a new Flip cam....I have no more excuses. :-)
Thanks for posting this. Can't view it now but I am bookmarking it for next week.
Val -- Awesome! let me know what you think next week. ;-)
Clint, video is fast becoming very popular. It's easy to put a video up on YouTube. I liked your slide show.
Michael -- Thanks! And, you are correct. YouTube is now the #2 search engine on the planet. Pretty impressive stat...
Thanks for the info Clint...I am wondering how you go from step two to step three? How do you create the uTube video from the slideshow? Is that a function of Slideshare? Thanks again, have a great day...
Johnn -- Yeah...probably should have expanded on that part of it...
I created the slide show originally in PowerPoint. Within PowerPoint, you can save each individual slide as a picture...in this case, JPGs. I used Windows MoveMaker to create the actual video .... importing the images I had created, adding music and the transitions between the pictures. I "published" (MovieMaker's version of saving, I guess) the video to my hard drive, then uploaded the finished product to YouTube.
Hope that helps!
Ahhhh... That's how you do it. I've been wondering that for a while. Thanks for the simple, yet I didn't figure it out tip!
Loreena -- You are so welcome! :-)
Francie -- From the sounds of it, I think you will do just fine. ;-) If I can help, feel free to contact me. I would be happy to do so...
nice presentation! some of the slides seemed to go by a little fast. looking forward to your next video.
Jason -- thanks....yeah, I even tried to slow them down compared to the rest, but I didnt want it to become much longer than it was...But, for a first round, Im happy. I consider this a personal victory. ;-)
Clint - This looks great. I typically use Photo Flash or Picasa to create videos, but I'll have to check out slideshare.
Michelle - All slideshare does is house slideshows. Its like a document storage facility for powerpoints. ;-)
Clint,
Thanks for posting this in clear English...I can do this! Also Andrew #5 above is the KING of video. He must never sleep and has captured all of Maine on video! He definitely sells the sizzle
Steve -- Youre welcome. ;-)
Thanks Clint! I can't wait to find some time to try this!
This sounds like a great tool that even I could use. Thanks for letting us know about this.
