MICHELLE NICHOLS...FOUNDER OF NATIONAL HUG YOUR KIDS DAY!

I subscribe to a sales newsletter from www.salesdog.com.  And, when mine showed up today, I ran across this news blip on there that I needed to share with everyone...Please read below.

"Did you hug your kids today?

Late last year, long-time SalesDog friend and contributor Michelle Nichols left her position as a columnist with BusinessWeek Online and closed her Savvy Selling business to launch National Hug Your Kids Day. In 1998 Michelle's son Mark died suddenly, at age 8 1/2 years old, from brain cancer. Now she's encouraging working mothers and fathers to put "family first and work a close second." Today is the first annual National Hug Your Kids Day - the perfect time to grab your free copy of Michelle's tip sheet: How Professional Salespeople Can Love Their Families and Thrive at Work. Click here to get yours."

I dont know about you folks...but, my job is not my life.  I use my job help me support my life.  My kids are my life.  And, I dont think I would be much of a person without them in my life.  Not that Im trying to be a fatalist, but you never know what may happen to you or them.

Spread the word about National Hug Your Kids Day!!!

Thanks for the Heads up. My (grown) kids are in another state but I called to remind them to hug my grandkids today.

Well grown kids are to far away for a hug, but a phone call will be better than nothing.

Linda -- Excellent work!  I have two grown daughters...and I did the same.  :-)  But, I dont have any grandkids....yet.  :-)  Either way, they needed to know they were thought of...

William -- Yes, it will.  Anything to remind them that they are thought of today.

Cute Cute!!!  I hugged mine!  My three year old said he wanted a drink and a hug when I tucked him into bed!  It just melted my heart!  Family is by far the #1 thing!

Richard -- I remember that from our phone conversation the other day.  My daughters live in Billings.  I miss them terribly as well.

Michelle -- This is the first one.  :-)

Pam -- My son can not go to bed without us discussing what he learned today.  He is 3 1/2.  And, we sit by the side of the bed and just listen to him telling us about what he did all day at daycare and such...its probably my favorite time of the day...LOL

Clint, thanks for the reminder and how cool that Michelle called you. Nice ThemThem to her. I'm sorry for the loss of her son, had to be tough, but what a lady that can turn a negative into a positive! Kudos to her.

Considering her corporate background, she has the drive and determination to do anything.  I really enjoyed speaking with her and participating, even a little bit, in such an awesome occassion.
